My name is Amber Cutchin, and I’ve been a Physical Education teacher for over ten years. I’m also a working mother of two strong-willed boys, which gives me firsthand insight into the unique challenges that working moms face daily. Over the past year, I’ve taken intentional steps to reconnect with myself and rediscover who I am beyond the roles of mother, teacher, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
In May 2024, I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety and depression—conditions I had unknowingly lived with for nearly two years. During that time, I silently struggled, putting on a brave face while internally feeling disconnected and overwhelmed. I wasn’t truly present with my family and often found myself withdrawing, caught in a depressive state. It wasn’t until I reached a breaking point, unable to cope with the demands of work and life, that I realized I needed help.
Along this journey, I was also diagnosed with PTSD related to the traumatic birth of my first son. These experiences opened my eyes to the internal battles many women fight while trying to meet the expectations of those around them. But through this adversity, I discovered a renewed sense of purpose: to help others who are navigating their own mental, physical, and emotional challenges.
After completion of my Personal Training, I plan to pursue certification as a Nutrition Coach, with the ultimate goal of specializing in women’s fitness—particularly for mothers, with a focus on postpartum recovery, core strength, and pelvic floor rehabilitation.
With over a decade of experience teaching fitness and adapting my instruction to meet diverse needs, I understand how to connect with and support others on their wellness journeys. My long-term vision is to also become a women’s health counselor, dedicated to supporting women—especially mothers—as they heal, rebuild, and thrive.
